Influenced by the ‘grazing’ style of eating
The business started life in early 2017, founded by Karen Green, who has always had a love for artistically styling food, discovering exciting artisan produce and exploring different food cultures. Influenced by the ‘grazing’ style of eating she came to love during her time living in Australia from 2010, Karen decided to turn her passion into a business.
When Karen founded The Little Green Platter Company in April 2017, grazing was an unknown concept in the UK. Karen not only embraced the idea, she also created a new way of delivering it - developing beautifully curated boards that were prepared in advance and delivered ready to enjoy.
As requests grew for smaller gatherings, homes and office lunches, Karen went on to create the grazing box, allowing people to enjoy the same artisan grazing experience without the need for a full event or venue.
From the very beginning, Karen made a deliberate decision to build The Little Green Platter Company around flavour, provenance and thoughtful pairing - not just presentation. While many early grazing brands relied on generic continental cheeses and supermarket produce, Karen sourced the finest British and continental artisan cheeses, charcuterie and accompaniments, curating boards the way a cheesemonger or deli would, not just a stylist.
That commitment to quality and flavour - choosing what tastes right, not just what looks good is what has set The Little Green Platter Company apart from day one, and it remains at the heart of everything we do today.
